Where the dates come from

The CANIDEX Events calendar brings together dates for dog shows, breed shows, working trials and dog sports events in one place. The dates come from two channels:

  1. From the organisers themselves: clubs and organisers enter and maintain their events directly in CANIDEX.
  2. From the event calendars of associations and portals: umbrella organisations, national kennel clubs and trial portals publish their dates. CANIDEX takes the factual details listed below from them, compares them with the source at regular intervals – usually daily – and refers to the source for every event.

Which details we take over

We only take over factual details about an event: name, type, date, place and country, organiser, closing date for entries, status (e.g. cancelled or fully booked) and the link to the official announcement or online entry of the source.

We do not take over any texts, images, logos or design of the sources, any lists of judges or any results. Details of entry offices or contact persons that a source publishes itself are only shown to signed-in users – individually for each event and technically protected against bulk retrieval.

What we check before adding a source

Before we take over dates from a source, we check whether we are permitted to do so. We only add a source if

  • the operator has expressly agreed – agreements to this effect exist with individual operators, in some cases granting us the exclusive right to display the data –, or
  • the dates are publicly accessible without registration and neither the operator’s terms of use nor its technical instructions (e.g. robots.txt) exclude their use.

In addition, the following applies to every source:

  • We name the source for every event taken over and link to it. The organiser’s official announcement always prevails.
  • We retrieve sources considerately – rarely, spread out over time and without putting a load on the operators’ services.
  • We only take over individual factual details per event, not the database or the service of a source as a whole.
  • We do not pass the data on to third parties and do not sell it.

Removal at any time

Operators of a source may request at any time and without giving reasons that we no longer display their data. We will then remove all details taken over from that source from the event calendar without undue delay and will not take over any further data from that source. On request, we will also remove only individual events or individual details, such as contact persons. This is free of charge for the operator.

Please write to daten@canidex.cloud and name the source or the events concerned. To prevent data from being removed at the request of unauthorised persons, we may ask you to briefly confirm your authorisation, e.g. by replying from the source’s domain.

Persons whose details are named in a source (e.g. as the contact person of an entry office) may likewise object to their display and request erasure at any time. Details of these rights can be found in our privacy policy.

New sources always welcome

Associations, clubs and operators of event portals can suggest at any time that we include their dates – including via a direct connection or an agreement. Write to us at daten@canidex.cloud. Organisers can also enter and maintain their events themselves in CANIDEX at any time.

No guarantee

We take over the details with care, but cannot guarantee that they are complete, correct and up to date – dates may change at short notice. Only the organiser’s official announcement is authoritative. If you notice an error, we would appreciate a note to daten@canidex.cloud.
